About Green IFSC

Green IFSC is the business directory and green economy hub for Ireland.

Our mission is to promote and support Ireland’s green economy both within Ireland and to global markets. Our target audience is businesses and consumers looking for the best green products and services as well as those wishing to invest in this exciting market.  The demand for green products and services is set to grow exponentially driven by global targets on climate change such as the Kyoto protocol as well as the trend for businesses and consumers to become more environmentally and ethically responsible.

We have built Ireland’s first comprehensive database of green companies operating in Ireland across a diverse range of business sectors. Our easy to use search engine allows you to browse over hundreds of companies by A to Z listing, by location or by industry sector and quickly find the product or service you are looking for.  We are constantly updating our database to ensure Green IFSC is the first point of reference for green business in Ireland.

Our team of researchers and digital marketing strategists keep up to date on all developments in the industry including business innovation, research and development, technology and legislation and are dedicated to keeping you informed through our regular updates to news and events.

Join us on Green IFSC, Ireland’s green pages and be part of the green economy revolution.

Background

“The world is as delicate and as complicated as a spider’s web.  If you touch one thread you send shudders running through all the other threads.  We are not just touching the web; we are tearing great holes in it”. Gerald Durrell

Governments across the world are now working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and are making a serious effort to address climate change. It is also clear that the future supply of fossil fuels will be less certain and more expensive. As a result, governments and businesses across the globe are searching for new solutions and driving the development of new technologies. The rapid increase in the demand for “green” goods and services has continued even in the midst of the current global recession. The drive for change has never been as strong.

Ireland has the potential to play a key role in this change. We have the natural resources, the talent and the Government commitment necessary to become a hub for green enterprise.  The sector already provides strong employment and export opportunities.  The Irish Government views the potential of the green enterprise sector as central to the development of the smart economy and has designated it as one of Ireland’s target sectors for investment and job creation. The planned Green Irish Financial Services Centre will build on the success of the IFSC and become a leading player in the global carbon market and promote Ireland as a centre of excellence in the management of carbon.

At Green IFSC, we want to promote Ireland’s potential by helping to attract further investment, grow our indigenous base and ensure that Ireland is recognised as a leader in green business and investment around the world.
